Most databases were designed for one shape of data, and everything else pays rent. Motiviti’s platform starts from the opposite premise: relational, document, graph, time-series, geospatial, vector, and moving-object data are all first-class citizens of a single engine, so a question like “which vessels crossed this boundary during that storm” is one query, not an integration project.

My side of the company is product: deciding what the engine should feel like to the people who point it at hard problems — analysts tracing movement through time, operators fusing feeds under pressure. The design conviction is the same one that runs through this whole site: structure should serve attention, and the tool should show its sources.

Space and time aren’t features. They’re the substrate.

We’re a small team spread across the Nordics, building carefully for domains where wrong answers cost more than slow ones. It is the least photogenic thing I work on and the one I think about in the shower.
